Wallpaper Glue? Screw wallpaper glue! They should shoot it and make it into horses.

Andrea has faced the tedious task of stripping wallpaper. Sometimes as many as 5 layers:

That's bad enough, but now we have to clear the walls of GLUE. Glue is evil. Glue sucks.

Once you steam off the wallpaper, you're still left with sticky walls with glue residue all over them. Something like this:

All that black looking stuff? Glue. Yech.

At least it's water-soluble. So getting it off isn't precisely difficult... Just tedious drudgy dirty sticky ache-making work. When it's all done, you end up with a nice wall ready to be prepped & painted like this:

We stripped the paper off the family room today - the only part of the house that is sheet-rock, not plaster. I was dreading it: wallpaper put over 'raw' drywall is near-unstrippable. You're time and money ahead to demo it and start over.

Thankfully whomever did the job did it right and put sizing on the drywall before they papered. So it came off relatively easily, and there's very little glue left behind. We'll still have to sand/screen them before painting, but for once it 'went our way'...
